That Smell….That coconut smell!
by: Emily DurmireCoconut, Coconut takes me away.
Mmmm…that smell!
coconut, Coconut takes me back.
Mmmm…that smell!
Coconut, takes me to another…
time and place.
Mmm…that smell!
Coconut, coconut makes me happy.
Mmm…that smell!
Coconut, coconut makes me smile!
Mmmm…that smell!
Mmmm….COCONUT!
WHERE
DOES
IT
TAKE
YOU ?
So much depends upon a wedding memory…
The couple, the kiss, the ring….
Burgandy carpet under my feet….
The “I do”!
The vowels!
The “Soulmate’s” first dance,
BBQ, friends ,pictures and cut the cake
No tears to be shed, only best wishes to be had!
Now husband and wife!
Time has flew, BYE!

Loved it! Both poems are great. I love how corky the coconut poem is and I loved the fact that our great minds thinnk alike by writing about our wonderful marriages.

Emily, the coconut poem makes me happy! I LOVE coconuts, too. It’s simple and repetitive, perfect for lower grades. I like how you incorporated things from your wedding in your second poem. Nice.

So my question for you is where does coconut take you?
In your So Much Depends Upon poem i can see that burgundy carpet you are talking about; also the wedding vows are something most of us married folk remember taking.
And yes, time “has flown by” for me, too. I enjoyed reading your poem because it took me back to that special day…
